Netbook for Reflection

Hi, My name is Matangaro. I am a year 5 student at Glenbrae School and I am in Room 9. My teacher is Mr. D. Nath.

This year was an exciting year for me because I started using a chromebook  as  tool in the classroom.  I was fascinated by the thought of doing so many cool things on my chromebook but it took me some time to really start using it effectively. There were so many things to learn and tried my best to learn as much as I could from my teacher, whanau and friends.

These are my reflections on what I did.

I have learnt about cybersmart, Google presentation, Blogging, Keyboard shortcut,Creating a folder and documents,using tools, taking screen shot, using sumo paint i also learn how to book mark.

I have learnt how to inspect element, how to type. I learn how to download stuff on my chrome. help my friend when she is stuck.I am able to think properly and spell properly.

Trip to the Manaiakalani Film Festival

 Trip to the Manaiakalani Film Festival            

On Wednesday the 13th of November, Glenbrae School went to the Manaiakalani Film festival. We went by three big green busses to Sylvia Park. When we got there we lined up in our classes and then we walked past the Foot Looker and Dicksmith shop to the theater.

My favorite film that I saw was room 10’s filming from Glenbrae School. I liked it because the activity they did was exciting, that I felt like I wanted to go to the camp with them.

My second favourite film was Panmure Bridge School’s film about learning how to swim. I also liked it because of the song.

Then when got out of the theater we all assemble at  the christmas tree near Dicksmith. We got on the same bus we came on then the bus driver took us back to school.

WALT: Write a review of the stories we read.

This story is about what a family of four did after  the storm.  Matthew, Jessie and Sam went out looking for pine cones in the forest when their dad told them to go and get some pinecones so that  they could make a fire at night.

When they went out to look for some pinecones, they found the skull of a kitten dead in a hole under a pine tree.

This story took  place at Granny’s Bay. I like this story because it is sad and interesting to read.

Ashley and Shiree know a lot about slot cars. They know how a slot car move and they also know about cars and races.

I like this article because it very interesting and I a lot from this article. I learnt how a slot car move and I also learnt about cars and races, and one more thing I learnt was some body parts of a slot car.

Term Two Holidays

During the holidays, it was fun because I went to a lot of places with my relatives and friends from church.

In the first week, I went to the movies with my family. We watched Despicable me 2.  The movie started at a half past one.

In the second week of the holidays, I went camping with my relatives and friends from church.

It was fun and I really enjoyed my holidays.

This story is about Granny’s Puna (Spring). One day a little curious girl who didn’t have a name went to the Puna where only Granny was allowed to go and no one else. She used to go there without the knowledge of her Granny to see the eel which lived in the puna.

The characters in the story are the little girl and her Granny.

I liked this story because the Granny had protected the tuna by not

allowing anyone to go to the puna which was a fresh water spring.

I have six brothers and three sisters. My friends are Fusi, Mele, Dora, Inotia, Manuae, Chris and Tauola.

My band is Titanium and favorite singer is Nicki Minaj. My  favourite program is Victorious and Big Time Rush.

My favourite song is I Won't Give Up and Come On Home.

My favourite sports are Volleyball, Tennis and  Netball.  My favourite foods are Carl’ Junior, KFC, Mcdonalds and Takeaway. My favorite colours  are Pink and Purple.
