Science Intensive - Magnet Room 10
Today we had another day of science-intensive. We learnt about Magnets with Mrs Moopanar. I learnt that there are two different types of magnet. The first one is natural/gravity which was already made way before man-made magnets. The second is a lodestone and that's when men came up with the idea of making magnets. I also learnt the three different names of the magnets, it's called bar magnet, donut magnet and also horse-shoe magnet.
I really enjoyed learning a lot of new things about Magnets and also experiencing things I've never done.

Netball Session With Anne
Today we had a netball session with Anne from Auckland Netball. She
came to our school to teach us some netball skills and also some new
fun games.
fun games.
First of all we played a warm up game called shadow follower, and what I
learnt from that game was to always stand one feet away from the person
who has the ball.
Next, we did some drills on intercepting while someone has a ball in their
hands, what I learnt from that activity was that when your intercepting
someone always watch the person who has the ball and not the person
who is receiving the ball.
After that we did another activity which is called four corner attack/
defending, and what I learnt about that activity was to always stay
with your partner and always be in front of them if you are defending.
Last of all we played a shooting game. So we had to split into two
teams and then one person who is isn't playing has to called out a
number and then that number grabs the ball which is in the middle
of the court and passes it to the first person in line, then the who person
grabbed the ball from the middle has to run in the semi-circle under the
hoop and then the last person in line has to past the ball to the person
under the hoop and shoot it. If they get the first ball in then they get
two point and if they get it the second time they get one point.
In the end my team won 24 - 16, we all were proud of ourselves and also
the other team that lost also proud themselves to.

Rippa Rugby Session
Today room 7 had a Rippa Rugby session in our school hall with Coach Matt from a club called Varsity. At our Rippa Rugby session we learnt and to cut through people and how to do a proper pass. We also played a game called unlimited tag and another game similar to cat and mouse, but instead we had team colours like yellow and white. I really enjoyed playing unlimited tag because everyone participated in the game, shared the ball properly to everyone and when my team won the game the other team cheered for our team and also ended the game happily.
