Half Fare To Palmerston North By Dorothy Corry

Half Fare To Palmerston North
 By Dorothy Corry

This story is about a teenaged boy named Luke who moved out of his home because his dad yelled at him after his teacher told his father that he wasn’t happy about his behaviour at school.

Luke and his father had a conversation about his attitude. When they were having a conversation, Luke's father hit Luke on the head. After Luke's father hit him on the head, Luke felt a little bit ashamed of himself because that was his first time he ever got hit.

After that incident, Luke thought of moving to his friend, Jason's house but Jason's mum's boyfriend was there and so he decided to go to Palmerston North instead. When he was on his way to the bus stop, Luke’s father came and said that he was very sorry.

The problem was solved when Dad came to the Bus top told Luke that he was very sorry about what he did. Then dad asked Luke if he wanted a burger and Luke said that it would be a good idea. Luke and his dad forgave each other.

I liked this story because I learnt how to forgive give each other when we fight, argue or have an argument and I also liked this story because it was very interesting.

W.A.L.T: write a story review

The story is about a little girl Tanya getting a stage fright and when she says her speech she starts coughing and then after a while she starts getting a hiccup, when she started coughing her teacher walked up to her and gave her a coughing lollies to make her stop coughing.

I like the story the story because it was interesting and a bit embarrassing, when Tanya kept on coughing and started doing hiccups and I also liked this story because it was fun reading it.

My Bio poem

Matangaro

Musical, Creative and Sporty
Who loves to play sports with her family and friends and  eat and laugh  with her friends.
Who loves eating KFC.
Who wonders how the rainbow shines in the sky.
Who is scared when she is home by myself in the night.
Who would like to travel around the world.
Who is able to follow her dreams.
Who dreams to be a Doctor or a Chef.

Netbook for Reflection

Hi, My name is Matangaro. I am a year 5 student at Glenbrae School and I am in Room 9. My teacher is Mr. D. Nath.

This year was an exciting year for me because I started using a chromebook  as  tool in the classroom.  I was fascinated by the thought of doing so many cool things on my chromebook but it took me some time to really start using it effectively. There were so many things to learn and tried my best to learn as much as I could from my teacher, whanau and friends.

These are my reflections on what I did.

I have learnt about cybersmart, Google presentation, Blogging, Keyboard shortcut,Creating a folder and documents, using tools, taking screen shot, using sumo paint i also learn how to book mark.

I have learnt how to inspect element, how to type. I learn how to download stuff on my chrome. help my friend when she is stuck.I am able to think properly and spell properly.

Trip to the Manaiakalani Film Festival

Trip to the Manaiakalani Film Festival

On Wednesday the 13th of November, Glenbrae School went to the Manaiakalani Film festival. We went by three big green busses to Sylvia Park. When we got there we lined up in our classes and then we walked past the Foot Looker and Dicksmith shop to the theater.

My favorite film that I saw was room 10’s filming from Glenbrae School. I liked it because the activity they did was exciting, that I felt like I wanted to go to the camp with them.

My second favourite film was Panmure Bridge School’s film about learning how to swim. I also liked it because of the song.

Then when got out of the theater we all assemble at  the christmas tree near Dicksmith. We got on the same bus we came on then the bus driver took us back to school.
