Today I played an awesome game called Punctuation and I learnt where to put commas,speech marks, full stops and capital letters.I had so much fun playing this game.

Today I went on study ladder and played a game  called spell it and I learnt that you can always look at the picture when you're going to write a word or spell it out.I really had fun playing on it and it was a little bit funny to.

Netbook for Reflection

Hi, My name is Matangaro. I am a year 5 student at Glenbrae School and I am in Room 9. My teacher is Mr. D. Nath.

This year was an exciting year for me because I started using a chromebook  as  tool in the classroom.  I was fascinated by the thought of doing so many cool things on my chromebook but it took me some time to really start using it effectively. There were so many things to learn and tried my best to learn as much as I could from my teacher, whanau and friends.

These are my reflections on what I did.

I have learnt about cybersmart, Google presentation, Blogging, Keyboard shortcut,Creating a folder and documents,using tools, taking screen shot, using sumo paint i also learn how to book mark.

I have learnt how to inspect element, how to type. I learn how to download stuff on my chrome. help my friend when she is stuck.I am able to think properly and spell properly.

Trip to the Manaiakalani Film Festival

 Trip to the Manaiakalani Film Festival            

On Wednesday the 13th of November, Glenbrae School went to the Manaiakalani Film festival. We went by three big green busses to Sylvia Park. When we got there we lined up in our classes and then we walked past the Foot Looker and Dicksmith shop to the theater.

My favorite film that I saw was room 10’s filming from Glenbrae School. I liked it because the activity they did was exciting, that I felt like I wanted to go to the camp with them.

My second favourite film was Panmure Bridge School’s film about learning how to swim. I also liked it because of the song.

Then when got out of the theater we all assemble at  the christmas tree near Dicksmith. We got on the same bus we came on then the bus driver took us back to school.

After the Storm by Rose Quilter

WALT: Write a review of the stories we read.

This story is about what a family of four did after  the storm.  Matthew, Jessie and Sam went out looking for pine cones in the forest when their dad told them to go and get some pinecones so that  they could make a fire at night.

When they went out to look for some pinecones, they found the skull of a kitten dead in a hole under a pine tree.

This story took  place at Granny’s Bay. I like this story because it is sad and interesting to read.
